Reasons Why Virginia Doesn't Really Count

Virginia doesn't really, really count because:

1. Too many black people -- they even once elected a African-American Governor.

2. Too many educated people.

3. The traffic on the beltway was just horrible, how could that ever happen!

4. Too many mountain people, like in those Obama states like Idaho.

5. Too many white men.

6. Too many young people.

7. Too many independents and, gasp, they let them vote here!

your reason?

Wait a minute - there was bad traffic in the DC area? That's never hapened before. Obviously the Obamabots were deliberately causing accidents.

Re: Reasons Why Virginia Doesn't Really Count (2.00 / 1)

DC traffic is NOTHING!  NOTHING!!  Try driving around Chicago, SF or LA sometime and you'll PRAY for DC traffic ;-)

National traffic rankings:

1. LA
2. (tie) DC
Atlanta
4. San Francisco

Re: Reasons Why Virginia Doesn't Really Count (none / 0)

Never been to LA, but having grown up in Atlanta and now living in DC, I can say they shouldn't even rank on the same page.

Yeah, it takes forever to get around Atlanta.  But at least the road signs make some semblance of sense.  DC signs, plus DC traffic, makes it far, far worse.  Three hours to get across the city is something both have in common (actually, I never took 3 hours to get from one side of Atlanta to the other), but having roads split without warning and signs obstructed so badly you can't read them until past the point where they have any benefit is something much worse (and anyone who has tried to find the Mass Ave exit driving on 395 through the tunnel near the Senate knows what I'm talking about).

huh... (none / 0)

dc (especially beltway) traffic is worse than chicago.  eveb when the edens has lanes closed for construction, it's not as bad (as similar situations in the beltway).  la traffic is clearly the worst, afaic.  but that's because public transportation is scorned.  i wouldn't drive in san fran, so maybe that wins.  55 is easily matched by 95, and i think it best not to drive either during rush hour.

what i want to know is why you left out new york?  the long island expressway, anyone, on friday?  manhattan below city hall during a weekday?  yuck!

now if you want to argue that chicago has more construction time (dan ryan was, what, 3 years?), i'd think you have a point.  but i find it easier to get around in chicagoland than inside the beltway...

It's not like it's going to be competitive in the General or anything...

Come on people, don't be so short sided, if we want to make states competitive we need to look at, and be competitive in states like Virginia!

Re: 1000 bucks (none / 0)

it's becoming more and more blue everyday.

Turnout today shows it.
Getting a dem senator shows it.
Having a dem gov shows it.

Anyone who doesn't think it's not going to be competitive isn't thinking of the possibilities and to the greater goal of the 50 state strategy.

spend that money on intrade (www.intrade.com)

And while you're at it, you can get a great deal by betting on Clinton's chances of winning the nomination - they only have her at 27.5% right now, so you can almost quadruple your money.

Re: Reasons Why Virginia Doesn't Really Count (none / 0)

Hillary Clinton also said Florida didn't matter when she signed the 4 state pledge.  But now it is necessary in her delegate math so she's suddenly for seating those delegates.

Had Florida and Michigan not violated the DNC rules this wouldn't be an issue, but Hillary was complicit in that decision.

Could everyone please at least start by getting the facts straight about Florida?  AllergictoBS above should be breaking out in autoimmune hives. HILLARY DID NOT CAMPAIGN IN FLORIDA, DID NOT ADVERTISE IN FLORIDA.

In fact, Obama had tv ads up in Florida.  His campaign explained that the ads were part of a national buy.  I'd like to know if the ads were airing in Iowa (well past the caucus there).

In the last 24 hours I heard both Frank Luntz and Nora O'Donnell say that Obama was not on the ballot in Florida.  YES HE WAS, AS WAS EDWARDS.

The ad was aired nationally. Nationally means nationally - including Iowa, as well as New Hampshire, Nevada, Michigan, and South Carolina.

Right, she just had a bunch of "fund raisers" (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) that were coincidentally scheduled in the state she pledged not to campaign in just a couuple days before the election she pledged wouldn't count but now she needs.  We understand, they were just "fund raisers"...

Just becuase people support obama doesn't mean that they are ignorant or "junior high school bullies". I come to this website to find news. When will you poeple realize that poeple who are on this placement are way too opinionated to actually change their mind so there is no point in trying to convince the readers that one candidate is more evil than the other
