Grateful Dead for Obama, Concert in SF

3 living members of The Grateful Dead, Phil Lesh, Bob Weir & Mickey Hart will play at a "Deadheads for Obama" concert Monday at the Warfield in San Francisco.

Hopefully, a new generation of guitarist, Jackie Greene will play too but I'm not sure if he is on the bill.

Weir & Hart, especially, are longtime environmental activists.  Lesh was an opponent of the Iraq War and signed the "Not in Our Name" statement before the war started.

It looks loke the Boomers are joining the bandwagon!  It's gonna be a long, strange trip before Barack gets to the While House.  With the Dead on board, at least we will be enjoyin' the ride.  I need a miriacle everyday!  It sure looks like a rising tide for Obama!  Here comes Sunshine! Space is for Deadheads, not warheads.

And yes, I still miss Jerry, Brent, Vince & Pigpen.

Flame away Hillbots, but some of the best times I ever had were at Dead Concerts, it's time to let the good times roll again!

I've never been a fan of the Dead (none / 0)

for whatever reason, the music does not speak to me.

Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt are more my speed...

But I'm sure a lot of Obama fans will have a great time at that concert.
